Surprisingly competent in terms of action - everything involving the badass black President fighting Darth Vader Antichrist is melodramatic, over-the-top fun. But whenever any of the original cast is around, the movie gets draggy and painful, either trying to build tension and failing to make us care, or trying to sell us on its unique brand of faith but preaching only to the choir at best. And the international scope really highlights how unsettlingly self-centered the writers are.

Easily the most entertaining of the Left Behind movies (and, yes, I am counting the Nic Cage one). The Antichrist vs the President plot doesn't make much sense, but it's almost fun to watch Gordon Currie lose the restraint & go completely off the rails. Too bad the preachiness of the series, which was never subtle to begin with, was also dialed up to 11. Also dragging it down is the focus on our dull trio of heroes, who offer nothing and should have been left behind in the last film.
