An amusing short where women are the dominant sex. It carries things to extremes but in doing so exposes hidden preconceptions and stereotypes about gender roles, something especially surprising for a 100 year old film.

The world's first female filmmaker creates a gender role reversal comedy that reveals a lot about turn-of-the-century social attitudes.

Surprisingly still effective.

Whether this is intended as a satire of feminism or patriarchy is hard to tell 115 years later, but it remains a pretty sharp barb at gender roles nonetheless - and all without losing its sense of humour.

An interesting concept that must have been pretty hard hitting in 1906.
