Última parte da trilogia "Black Society", Ley Lines fecha com chave de ouro e coroa essa trilogia como a melhor do Miike. D.O.A. de cu é rola.

Movie about Japanese-Chinese trying to hit it big time by robbing a crime lord.

Beautifully crafted drama is unusually polished and restrained for Miike (though not missing his usual penchant for seamier elements). Stunning use of convincing background activity, which lends an immediacy and verisimilitude to the cityscapes, and quieter rural moments later in the film. Well performed by the entire cast, though Li stands out in a particularly heart breaking performance. Ultimately a surprisingly touching and moving experience.

More than anything else by Miike this hit me like a less fanciful, if harder to follow answer to early Tarantino, with humor just as black but somehow very different. Still not my kind, and I got very little out of the plot, but I kind of like how casual it stays in tone and style while being so off-kilter.

When it seemed that the third part of the trilogy was another good film after Rainy Dog, disappointment came in the middle part, which was reduced only in the finale of the characters history. Worst of the Black Society trilogy, but still fine movie.
