Watching chinese arthouse film is a whole different expierience: DVD will have english subtitles burnt-in right below chinese ones, weird watermarks will fly through the screen once in a while. A certain feel of authenticity that I love. This urbal tale mixes up paranoia and a few different genres in the interesting way, but in the end suffers from the same problem as many films that don't follow genre conventions - it gets lost in itslef. Xun Zhou shines here with her natural beauty and talent.

The beginning of the film is very confusing, but once the pieces start falling together it is very intriguing to watch. The film is also riddled with famous chinese actors in small roles. Highly enjoyable if you like chinese cinema.
