Unintentional comedy galore. "The other day I was crossing the street, lost in my head about something - a not uncommon state of affairs. I was listening to the overture and as the music began to swell I suddenly realized that: I had hands. And legs, and a torso, and that I was surrounded by people and cars."

So the dude from How I Met Your Mother wants to be Zach Braff ... a couple of okay lines here and there but overall nothing special.

I wasn't expecting much of this one, based on the trailers, but I actually liked it a lot. Radnor was likable and relatable and Elizabeth Olsen is fast becoming one of my favourite actresses. I'm not personally familiar with the American college experience, but I could still apply what was being said to my own experience of university. It also had some nice and interesting things to say about age, relationships and life in general. I don't think everyone would enjoy it, but I totally did.

This movie is basically indie squared, and a strange story about how he met a mother.

A cute movie about how two people with a large difference in age can fall in love, but it never works out perfectly. I thought that Josh Radnor played a really endearing character, similar to his character in How I Met Your Mother. Elizabeth Olsen was such a beautiful girl in this film. You can't help but almost fall in love with her too. The thing that impressed me the most about this film was that all the characters made very mature decisions instead of the typical Hollywood cliches.

Liberal Arts tries to be Before Sunrise but ends up being an inferior Garden State. Radnor's script is pretentious like a stereotypical college student and his aggressive inoffensiveness can get on your nerves. However, Liberal Arts is decent light entertainment and the supporting cast more than makes up for Radnor's shortcomings. Though it's still kinda icky that a 38 y/o wrote a love story involving a 23 y/o with the same name as her character.

Well, I switched on just to see what that guy Ted would come up with if he were a film director. Turns out, something a bit more bookish than your typical romcom. The tone of the film is different, likeable, and the characters have great chemistry. So far so good. Beyond halfway, though, the relationship stuff gets awfully clichéd. I wanted to say it was E. Olsen's breakout role but she was better in Martha Marcy May Marlene... frankly without her this would not be much of a movie. Just so-so.

Thank God this movie wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I went in purely on the strength of Happythankyoumoreplease. I was fully prepared to be disappointed based on some horrid trailer I saw. I was not disappointed. I hope John Radnor makes more movies.

Highly enjoyable, (mostly) well-written, and charming. Allison Janney is fantastic, as always, and Josh Radnor makes an appealing intellectual. Because it's about college and ideas, it's natural that it goes in for a bit more than its share of navel-gazing, but it stays light enough. Olsen is good, but simply not believable as a 19-year old. The lines she is given to say are too maturely considered for that age, and although she was 23 at the time of filming, she reads a LOT closer to 30.

Surprisingly sincere and positive in down to earth way film. In this way Radnor's sophomore effort is different from your average contemporary 'offbeat' indie drama/comedy. I won't lie, this film got me thinking. The characters and conversations they have seem very genuine, I wish I could hang out with them some time.

Surprisingly enjoyable talkie May-to-July romance with two very likeable leads and a nice understated tone that stays on the sweet side of bittersweet. Also, I can never get enough of Richard Jenkins.

While some of the writing was iffy overall, particularly some of the dialogue and a couple of odd scenes, this still manages to be a pretty solid romantic dramedy. The story is fairly original, the college setting is neat, and the character dynamics really work well. It's not a perfect movie, and it could be made better with some changes here and there, but it does have a lot of heart. It's cute, smart, and quite worth watching, largely thanks to Radnor & Olsen both giving great performances.

This movie is not your regular movie. It is not something where you a few funny moments which are all in the trailer. The movie has a lot of dialogues and some of them are really clever and does make you smile. This movie could have been significantly better if Josh Radnor had done a better job as the lead, the supporting cast of Richard Jenkins, Allison Janney and Elizabeth Olsen give an amazing performance. I would say the standout in this movie Elizabeth Olsen. A good movie to watch.

I had no idea one of the Olsens can actually act. I had no idea Josh Radnor can write an intelligent, witty script and decently direct. I'm pleasantly surprised by both. It's light and breezy, but may come across slightly pretentious with all the literature references, classical music & handwritten letters montage.

A warm, honest and likeable indie rom-com. Radnor and Olsen are both underrated talents and they're on top form here.
