Under the loving but firm guidance of an old fan turned director and cultural diplomat and to the surprise of a whole world, the ex-Yugoslavian cult band Laibach becomes the first foreign rock group ever to perform in the fortress state of North Korea. Confronting strict ideology and cultural differences, the band struggles to get their songs through the needle's eye of censorship before they can be unleashed on an audience never before exposed to alternative rock'n'roll. For fans of Laibach this is probably immensely interesting. However, for people who are simply interested in the many themes this movie has to offer, it could've been so much more based on the premise alone. The movie creates a political backdrop by intercutting the band's activities with political news happening simultaneously, but these two currents in the movie never meet, begging the question why the political backdrop was needed in the first place. Great potential only half cashed-in.

Grew up knowing a bit about Laibach's shtick, there's not really much of them or it in this though, it's really about Traavik and his negotiations.
