Lifeguard

This movie had nothing to say and I listened to every word of it.

Finally found this one. Sam Elliott as an over 30 year old lifeguard. The story is as simple as that. He loves his job but some are pressuring him to move on to a career. There are some love interests too. Entertaining movie and still holds up.

Decent drive-in B-movie from the mid-seventies. It's definitely a product of its time.

"Lifeguard" explores the journey of self-discovery and acceptance as a lifeguard reevaluates his life decisions. The film focuses on character development rather than pace, and the narrative is compellingly delivered, though it could be more interesting.

Not a theme I remember having seen much of-- the aging underachiever at a fork in his life's road. That serious theme is overlaid upon lots of light beach action that is made the more interesting for being so very dated in style and attitude. Decently written and scored. Sam Elliott is not-- I repeat-- is NOT a cowboy in this movie, and that fact alone is a novelty. The movie poster showed on this page is not true to the tone of the movie. The movie is more substantive than the poster suggests.

Better than expected,not just a simple summer movie but has some moments of introspection.
