Danny O'Shea has forever lived in the shadow of his brother, the great football player Kevin O'Shea. Kevin was stronger, faster, and more popular. But when his daughter is cut from Kevin's pee-wee football team, Danny brings together a squad of picked-lasts and losers to prove to Kevin that he can still learn a lot from his brother. (imdb)

Marginally better than most of the other crappy "underdog kid sports team" movies of the era, thanks mostly to its cast and better-than-expected writing. In particular, I was impressed that they didn't make Ed O'Neill's character into a villain, as they easily could have done. Yeah, the movie is utterly predictable and nothing to write home about, but no one involved need be embarassed, either.

Gather round and I'll tell you how I would tighten up the script of Little Giants to make it leaner and meaner you see we do not need the Johnny's dad subplot as we don't get any perspective from the Johnny character and furthermore

Little Giants is a nostalgic movie for me - that isn't to say that it's not good but I feel like I'm biased. The story of two brothers who couldn't be more different, is something almost anybody can relate. My favorite part of this kids movies is that they don't make Ed O'Neill's character into a villain. Yes, he is the antagonist but he isn't a terrible person which is highlighted in his dealings with his niece. The movie holds up relatively well and I still found it pretty funny.

As a devoted fan of the *actual* NY football Giants, I watch each game with the hope that one day, Coach Coughlin will call the Annexation of Puerto Rico, and that the Giants will win a glorious come-from-behind victory. I'm still waiting.

I don't like football, but I did particularly enjoy this as a kid, and this still stands today as one of my favourite Moranis performances

Moderately entertaining for kids. Not much for adults.

It took 4 writers to create, or 'refine', this highly predictable kids sports comedy that wastes the talents of all involved? O'Neil is completely neutered in a role that is basically a more successful version of Al Bundy with rounded off edges, and Moranis is a depressing reminder that form generally defines function. Fans of this sub-genre would be better served watching Bad News Bears (76 and/or 05).

A fairly predictable kids sports movie, but there were enough funny moments to make it enjoyable.

A kids movie with all the hallmarks of a kids movie. It's got kids and Rick Moranis.

The movie had some heart, but it really didn't have the comedy. And with the people that were in this, that is a disappointment.

One of those movies that you rewatch when you're older, and you're pissed off you memorized all the lines to. 45 points for Rick Moranis, God bless his soul.

One of many shitty kids movies about underdog sports teams. A whole slew of these came out when I was growing up, and with a few notable exceptions (Sandlot) they were all terrible.

Paper-thin "Bad News Bears" retread. Moranis and O'Neill don't really add any comic depth to the film, as they both essentially play one dimensional straight men - they leave the choice comic parts to the farting fat kid and the geek who blows snot bubbles, you see. Seeing some NFL stars in cameos was fun, but that really doesn't really save the film at all.
