A loving ode to testosterone, jump kicks, and guns filled with cop genre cliches. Not by any means a great film, it manages to keep a decent pace, has plenty of fighting and laughlably over the top action and dialogue, and so remains consistently entertaining.

Rewatch. I first saw this one in the 80's and forgot it, then I saw it a half dozen years ago and dismissed it as a lame 80's action flick. Upon rewatch I realize it's among the best in it's subgenre. The dialogue is crisp, the pacing is brisk, the score is lovely and the cast (Chuck, Chipotle, Leon and David Carradine) all show up for an honest effort. This IS the best Chuck Norris film and among the classics of early 80's action.

This felt extremely dated, like it was released a decade too late. It tries its best to emulate Westerns and action thrillers of that era, but just ends up being full of unintentional comedy. Carradine and Norris doing battle with some downright embarrassing choreography is the cherry on top. I think it's worth a watch just to see those two in their prime. It's my favorite Norris flick thus far, but that's not saying much.

Very fun, really exciting action film. Much better than a Chuck Norris film has any right to be

In my younger years Chuck Norris was commonly used as the focal point of jokes revolving around his sheer awesomeness. And had I seen this as a kid, I probably would have been convinced that he was the most badassest badass to ever exist. As an adult, watching his movies, Norris seems like an android in a Canadian tuxedo, programmed by a B-actor who was only vaguely learned in BASIC. Still, that buried truck scene was awesome.

One of Chuck Norris' better films. An action that also plays as a Western, Karate and dramatic movie.

the story is not bad, but chuck norris is, as always. the actors around him saved his butt. he should have stuck with just his martial arts. but instead highlighting it in his movies, they stage it badly and only few and far in between. his movies are really a waste of time to watch. my dog has more talent then he dose.

I always hated Walker Texas Ranger and Chuck Norris in general. McQuade is a sort of prototype of Walker, except he's on the chaotic side of good. Plot is very typical - effective but with little regard to the rules, lawman gets a partner of different race, meets antagonist, which kills someone dear to our hero and then after a big gun-fight / fist-fight kills the evil guy. That's not bad by itself, but the execution of the plot in this film is very dull. I just wasn't entertained.

Probably there's an nostalgic value 'cause I remember when my childhood friends were so hyped about this movie. It's a very old school action movie and there's a lot of moments where I just can't avoid to have some quilty pleasure :D

So Chuck Norris's car is his penis, right? Norris has the charisma of a sack of potatoes but this is probably one of his better efforts.
