This is far and away the least funny movie I've ever seen. I mostly watch comedies and I couldn't even identify more than 3 or 4 jokes--and of those, I laughed at none.

Rather boring.

Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World may have its moments, perhaps enough to prove a worthwhile viewing for most that enjoy Brooks' style of neurotic humor, but it is marred by long stretches of laugh-less developments.

Not bad with some amusing moments, but lacks much energy or really anything special besides the concept.

It's an excellent idea, but simply not very funny. Brooks' schtick is enough for me to be entertained, but it is a little tired here. The best scene is where Brooks does a comedy routine for an auditorium of Indians, including an amazing subversion of improv comedy that I bet came from his original act 40 years ago. But he's bombing in the scene, so even then, it is hard to watch.

I spent most of this movie looking for comedy in this movie.

Had it's moments but not very many. Good concept, poor execution. Didn't even do anything special with cinematography. Why film on location if you aren't going to use it to your full advantage?

It was ok.. but I thought there was going to be more to this movie. Repeated jokes over and over nothing new i suppose.. I'm glad I know hindi, it was atleast enjoyable in that sense to me.

At the end, I was laughing at how unfunny that film was. A fatal sin for a supposedly 'comedy' film, but as well as that the whole film was really stilted and awkward with an unnaturally slow pacing. The acting was generally preety poor too, though Brooks and Carroll-Lynch were good. There was no real story and the ending was abrupt and incoherent, a number of plotlines were started but left hanging with no real resolution. I mean, he didn't even go to a Muslim country!

I can sort of guess why this never got a theatrical release in Denmark. That being said it isn't quite as funny as you might expect from the title, but it aims more for a sense of "quirky" that it actually hits pretty well. Though familiatiry with Brooks' work is a definite plus as I later learned.

"Dumped by its original distributor because of its title, Albert Brooks's Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World should, instead, have been ditched for not being very funny." - Nick Schager

Smug, pandering garbage about the blind xenophobia if the Western World. Never as enlightening as it thinks it is, and the comedy never ever takes off.

Not too bad, as Brooks himself is the butt of the whole movie. John Carroll Lynch stands out for me, as a State Dept flack who's a Brooks fan.
