Los últimos de Filipinas

Having seen the filipino version of the battles of Baler (2008), where a group of Spanish soldiers occupied themselves in a church for 337 days refusing to give up, I now get to see the original Spanish version from the days of Franco. Naturally it's going to be Spanish propaganda, but in many ways the modern version also focused on the Spanish not giving up long after the war is over, admiring their stubbornness. It's a pretty good movie, mostly because it's based on a true story.
