It's a bit heavy on the adolescent romanticism, but the cast is convincing and I especially appreciated the fact that the story wasn't caught in the trappings of boarding school dramas. To me, Tori's nonnegotiable U-turn - arguably a lazy screenwriting plot device - remains puzzling and nowhere near justified enough, however Paulie's steely determination is almost heartbreaking.

A good psychological examination of first love, heartbreak, and the stigma of being a young lesbian. Some of the school sessions were somewhat tedious. There are a few sweet topless scenes. Some good dialog but also some pretentious poems. Good acting performances. Good music, settings, and production quality. The tragic ending seemed entirely unnecessary.

There's something about this one that sticks with you for a long time. Certainly not a movie a guy like me would normally go for but found it quite riveting the way it's played between emotions. It doesn't hurt having good looking leads.
