I'm surprised that my favorite Newmeyer sound film turns out to be his British comedy Lost in the Legion (1934) starring lump Leslie Fuller! Not going to class this down as a great comedy. It's awkward, cheap looking and with a weird dead atmosphere underneath the clowning around. A lot of the jokes are beyond terrible as well. Yet it's surprisingly watchable. Liked about the playfulness of it all. Fuller himself was doing his best to be the buffoon. A odd little delight.
