Listen to Louis talk about the production for this special on O&A to get a real feel of how talented this guy is. It's not quite up there with "Hilarious" or "Chewed Up", but nonetheless better than 99% of contemporary stand-up material. I've watched it maybe 3 or 4 times now and appreciate it more and more with the repeated viewing as it's obvious Louis has taken an interest in developing his material away from cum and shit jokes.. The Second Coming of Christ? Possibly.

The least funny of his four sets so far.

The more control he has over a project, the better it is. This is proof.

Watch his shirt grow sweat stains throughout the show.

iffy crowd and pacing aside, it may beat the previous three. people forget the first-half patchiness of those due to how each culminates in an outstanding sustained 20-30 mins around a personal topic. this doesn't quite match that, but a newfound consistency is there. it also feels like his demons are spilling out a little *too* much here due to more creative control--which i love, naturally. it probably says a lot about louis that his darkest to this point may also be the least contrived.

The 100 rating is probably influenced slightly by the amazing distribution method used for this, but it really is very good. Louis seems to me to have grown as a comedian since his previous specials, there is much more depth to his material here than I recall there being before. As always, a riot.

i chuckled a couple times, nothing stood out, but i'm a hard nut to crack when it comes to comedy. i do admire him for taking on the entire project by himself and doing it well.

Not quite as uproariously funny as some of his other work, but I'll be surprised if I see a better comedy routine this year.

Louis C.K. is still in a groove where about everything he says is at least chuckle worthy. He has the feel for an audience.

I was slightly annoyed by 'regular guy who's cool because he's a douchebag' thing. There was couple of jokes that I found amusing, but mostly felt like waste of my time.

Not quite as funny as Hilarious but it's still awesome from start to finish.

As funny as usual. The bit about how much he hates a six-year-old, and how he plans on getting revenge, was hilarious.

When you laugh through the majority of an hour long set, you must be doing something right.

It brought the laughs to the table, but not really anything new. Also, did he actually suggest that bacon is not a good enough reason to ruin the planet for future generations?

Better than C.K.'s recent material, more refined bits out of his ouvre. Less of -my kids- easy bait jokes and longer sprees of shameless demonstration.

I loved the show Louie and the CCP, but this special just didn't do it for me.

Repititious in a way that has the flipside of being comforting. Whenever I feel like a Louis C.K. based on my past experiences with him, then I know what I am going to get.

Feels somewhat of a step back from past specials but that's still better than so much comedy out there today.

As hilarious as Louis has been recently, with some pretty far-out concepts, making the set even more funny. A segment on his weed experience drags this down, but he makes up for it by pressing the jizz-stained buttons about the afflictions of all the pasty men of modern society. In other words, a fuckin' laff.

Is it me or are Louis C.K.'s DVDs getting worse with every release? This one's passable but I must admit to sitting through the majority silent and blank-faced, much of the gags lacking the biting wit we've come to expect from the man. The chunks on smoking pot, playing monopoly with his kids and men's attitude towards women do raise a chuckle though. He received many plaudits for the way he managed this production - perhaps he should've concentrated a bit more on the material.

Classic Louis C.K. If you like Louis, you'll like this special, if you don't like Louis ... well, just leave this page and never return. If you haven't seen any of his work yet, look it up on youtube, dozens of his jokes are easily found there.

Belly laughs alternating with uncomfortable silences. I can't believe he goes to the places where he goes; a deeply cathartic experience. He's one of the greats.

There are some rough patches here or there, but he is still the same Louis CK that I love and admire and when he gets into the jokes about masturbating and hating children I laugh hysterically.

Like the best stand-up routines, gets funnier and funnier as it goes along, climaxing at the very end with the bit on male and female orgasms. When Louis mounted that stool and started angrily and deliberately dry-humping I was absolutely losing it. Funny as hell.

It's tricky for me to review stand-up comedy. I don't want to just repeat the gags, and a laundry list of the topics he covers won't tell you anything. I laughed a lot... if you like Louis, you'll enjoy it. I would say it's less funny in the middle than at the start and the end, but all of it works. Probably the weakest part is the environment chunk, but even that has some good bits.

...(keyboards)......(drums)... "a Louie Louie, oh no, said we gotta go, yeah yeah yeah yeah .......... "Hillarious" and "Shameless" were better, but still very solid work, and waiting for more [big fan] "...a Louie Louie, oh baby, said we gotta go..."

One of the finest hours of stand-up ever recorded. Louis C.K.'s material is brilliant: hilarious, original, challenging, intelligent and, simply put, timeless. His delivery is absolute perfection resulting in a classic special that, even with the laugh-out-loud laughter inevitably reduced after the eventual dozens of views this deserves, will still put a huge smile on your face during its entire duration and elicit a deep appreciation for the art of stand-up comedy and its possibilities.

Seen: 2. Uneven and too perverse sometimes, but some bits are eerily relatable while others completely slay. Monopoly, shitty first grader, getting too high, sick of the perverse thoughts.
