While all the Marx Brothers did appear in The Story of Mankind (1957), Love Happy (1949) is considered the last official Marx Brothers vehicle. They didn't really work together in this one which is why this is one of their worst. A little bit Harpo & Chico, but not at all with Groucho who worked solo drooling over Marilyn Monroe. For the most part this was a Harpo Marx movie. Everything centered around him. Enjoy Harpo's wonderful slapstick, even if this was a very disjointed experience overall.

Truly delightful and charming comedy with The Marx Brothers in great latter day form, and Harpo especially good in a (rare) ostensibly leading role. Supporting cast do a fine job (including a scene-stealing Marilyn Monroe) and while the movie is no masterpiece, a lot of the goodwill generated goes a long way.

Originally conceived as a solo vehicle for Harpo, L.H became a Marx Brothers film out of sheer necessity(re: nobody would fund a Harpo film and Chico was drowning in debt). Groucho reluctantly participated and later disowned it. Who could blame him? It's a terribly unfunny film that is poorly plotted and features little real interaction between the brothers and a tiny throwaway role for Groucho that was presumably shoehorned in. Harpo's final chase scene is passable, but the rest is forgettable.

The jokes land. The choreography slaps. This is a certified banger.
