Though I dont like musicals at all, this film is one of my fav love triangle films. The tragedy of the sudden death of the beloved, the best friend digs the way to another kind of love. It has one of the most emotional gay love scene in cinema. Soundtracks are memorable. Worth watching!

Wow, i really wasn't expecting much from this but it's great. Less of any sort of attempt at "deconstructing" musicals (which would be pretty redundant at this point anyway) than simply a sincere, earnest attempt to update the Demy-style musical to fit modern (French) cinematic and cultural (nonhetero) norms. Plus i thought the songs were really good.

Although I'm definitely not into musicals, there is something about this film that made me enjoy it to the very end.
The songs are really amazing - I didn't expect to listen to such beautiful voices as well and the plot had me on the edge of my seat. The characters are totally special in their own way, each one of them, and the most interesting thing is that they're all connected in a way that makes the film flow and not make you feel bored.
The twist in the end of the film is my favorite one!

The first part was a fucking masterpiece. The rest? An absolute disaster. Some of the songs were cool some totally sucked. Just wasn't what I hoped for after the first half hour. I was seriously going "oh my god, did I just find another 95+???" and then bam. Bullshit. PS NOBODY LIKES PEOPLE WHOSE FACE LOOK LIKE A FOOT, MR TWILIGHT THE DRACULA LOOKALIKE

A fun, interesting, perhaps thought-provoking film. I loved the soundtrack.

This deconstruction is daring and should be intoxicating; but, instead, what Honoré brings to the movie-musical genre doesn't improve upon its past bold experiments.

"The love affairs of the film's characters aren't merely expressions of fluid sexual desire but an acknowledgement of the interconnectedness of human life." - Ed Gonzalez

Honore really imbues the film with lots of life and vigor, even as the characters struggle with grief. The consistent use of music helps in that regard, as well as Honore's camera, which moves with great freedom, shooting the action from what seems like every possible angle. I find the story resonates less with me, if only because I find its expression of identity confusion too lightly or shallowly treated for the direction it goes.

Love shown as a reflection of sorrow. It's a long walk of discovering you own voice through the broken mirror of grief.

I definitely loved this film. Its breath-taking originality and lovely melodic musical numbers contrast nicely to the heavy themes of grief and sexual experimentation among youth. It raised many questions on the idea of love versus sex and how we often prioritize one over the other, just to get what we want or think we need.

Fun and polyamorous with some decent songs on top. I'm liking Louis Garrel more and more.
