Pretty thouroughly un-bad, but so undeniably bland that it's hardly even worth watching. If you're looking for a solid mish-mash of apocalyptic tropes and second hand ideas, but with a decent production, then you'll be pleasantly surprised. No one goes out looking for regurgitated movies, though, so file this under the I-couldn't-find-anything-else-to-watch list.

A pleasant surprise. O'Brien was annoying since his incompetence made him useless in the new world. I suppose he's an audience surrogate. The monsters were neat and colorful even if they didn't make sense. Good Boy. Great crab fight. The lack of permanence in characters made this a better journey. Good message about the helpful friends he had at his home bunker the whole time. I'd watch a sequel. Fav scene: watching jellyfish with Mavis peacefully winding down playing music.

You know that teen film, where the protagonist narrates his self-important story? Well it's that, plus some left over CG ideas from Men in Black. Why do all CG monsters have to growl open-mouthed at the camera?

Love and Monsters delivers on a few good ideas as it mashes Fallout, Zombieland, and Kaiju, but middling direction (or possibly something else) keeps it from being more than just the sum of its parts. The film is quite pretty, the monsters and scenery bright and colourful, and the plot flows well. The cast is decent but no one really stands out, including the lead O'Brien rendering the film a little immemorable. Watchable, sweet though not always convincing; I can't say it left an impression.

I really enjoyed this silly little movie. A few of the monsters were a bit odd but the action and drama were fun and entertaining. I liked the characters and it is a quality production, however, a little more care could have been given to the designs for some of the monsters. It has some very satisfying moments, but also a few roll your eyes moments. Worthwhile and enjoyable.

Lesson #16 of MonsterLand no it’s not Zombieland Great creature effects, some moments of heart to break up the chuckles. I would’ve loved to see this on cheap day at the movies in the long long ago, the before times.

Well it is watchable but why do films nowadays feel so empty? The post-apocalyptic world with wonderful, big monsters is charming and enjoyable. Especially the snail is awesome. The whole pirate scene was predictable and childish. But hey, I got entertained, didn't I?

Pretty good post-apocalyptic movie. Not as funny as you might expect, but it has a few laughs. Steady action, good ending, good stuff.

Cute and bittersweet and truly funny and romantic all in the right spots -- the Cap brewing his own beer lol as the cliché of modern 'badass' man, the nerdy loser 'winning' in his own terms (writing a comic book-esque manual of living in this world of constant fear) and here and there some good thoughts on love and inspiration. Sure as hell I didn't expect such a vibrant young adult flick like this one. Also, Boy is just the GOAT of dog action stars.

Daft, likeable, if a bit forgettable. I saw it last week and I can remember monsters, and a bit of love, but not much else other than it reminded me a bit of Zombieland; that isn't a bad thing.. Michael Rooker seems to be enjoying his work these days. Good on him. Netflix seem to be churning out some watchable stuff at the moment.

Boringly straightforward. The tiny, weak-ass "subversion" they attempt leaves an overwhelmed young woman caring for a dozen senior citizens alone in a luxurious but unsafe beach house while our vanilla hero travels back across a wilderness (that never seems very dangerous) because people who undervalued him miss him now, I guess? Poorly written, blandly executed.

Was prepared for another corny cliche Netflix roster filler. Was quite surprised and really enjoyed it. Great characters, plot, directing, cast and excellent CGI. Loved the open ending.. hope there's a sequel.

Watchable, but not good enough: it's predictable and full of deus ex machina. Not a brilliant writing imho

Starts out brightly and cleverly enough that you can almost forgive its too obvious cribbing from ZOMBIELAND; O'Brien is a likable hero in the Eisenberg tradition. Loses its way once Rooker shows up, whose character doesn't make a great deal of sense and then abruptly leaves, making the mid-section feel a bit "shaggy dog"-ish, and a little tiresomely generic and "action-packed' during the climax, sacrificing the intriguing world building for more familiar action beats. Good creature effects.

Well, this one was an unexpectedly decent and warm coming of a.. guts? story? It's not the best thing you'll ever see but it is fun, emotional in not in a too much in your face way and not boring. What else can you ask for? Can't wait for a sequel.

Tremors, Alien, Jurassic Park, War Of The Worlds, Lord Of The Rings. Aklınıza hangi fantastik macera filmi geliyorsa hepsini hatırlatıyor. Böceklerin büyümesiyle, insanların yok olduğu 1 dünyada, sevgilisinin yanına giden Dylan O'Brien hikayesi. İlk 45 dakika tanışma faslıyla geçen film, sonlara doğru evden kaçma hikayesine dönüşüyor. Filmin sonunda yengeç ve özgürlük. İnsanı büyüklüğe götürecek yol, ancak onun küçüklüğünden geçer.

Overally I enjoyed this movie. However tone of it is over the place, sometimes more gruesome, sometimes more funny. And also plot felt rushed in the second part of the movie, it almost gave me impression like this was supposed to be mini series. Despite these flaws I highly recommend watching it.

This film is enjoyable and fun. Although there are scenes lifted from other films, the leech scene for example, this is still an entertaining movie. The cast does a good job here. Overall I would recommend this film.

For what it is, it's a cute movie. It's a nice blend of cheesy teen romance and creature feature. The story did get a little slow sometimes, but the fun characters and plot made up for it.

Actually quite an entertaining film. Might not be an original plot but has enough twists and turns to keep you watching. Dylan O'Brien does a great job to be lovable enough for you to want him to succeed. Some harmless fun to be had.

A film full of loveable characters, emotional moments, beautiful cinematography, and a humble story. What else would you need? It's not the deepest, brightest post-apocalyptic movie out there but it's a sweet, light-hearted coming-of-age story. By transcending boundaries of fantasy and romance "Love and Monsters" pulls you into a tender embrace and refuses to let go. I have a complaint though: How the heck did he kill a giant centipede with a bow?

This film had a hell of a lot of potential that it failed to live up to. I think it was going for a Zombieland vibe, and it totally fucking missed. I will give it credit for attempting to pull of some slick and stylish comedy / monster film. I think they could have made subtle changes to the characters and some of the writing while keeping the plot largely intact and salvaged this film, and that does count for a lot.

O'Brien is likable and the unpredictability of the plot makes this film a very fun end of the world adventure. It has some cool CGI monsters and a very enjoyable story of wanting to do more with the time we have. Its not the best of the best but sure is a way to wait out a raging winter storm.

Starts off snappy, effectively selling you into the world and tone of the movie. O'Brien is a likeable screen presence and the movie kind of cheats by introducing an absurdly loveable dog companion. The magnetic duo O'Brien meets on the surface kind of steals the movie and when they leave it, the whole thing starts deflating, especially as it gets to the final act. An act which becomes painfully formulaic as it turns into a series of checking things off the call back to-do list.
