Love in the Time of Cholera

Seeing this film is like going on a date with someone who is beautiful (or handsome) but very dull. I began to think of things I could do that would be more interesting than watching the film. I decided to make toast.

I don't know where to begin the points this film does not work: The awful dialogues? The shallow and uninteresting characterisation? The caricatured spanish-accented english speaking? The terrible acting (sadly incuding Badem who may have been pulled to the overall standard of the film)? The tacky soundtrack accompanied by the overly-vibrating voice of Shakira? The length? Too bad this novel was wasted such...

The book is way much better than the movie. It's a disaster

Javier Bardem was worth a try, but my expectations were not completely fulfilled.

It should be spoken in spanish!

A true romance story. not afraid to pull pull punches with something not being "sexy" which makes it all the more endearing. All in all a surprisingly good movie.

Boring and uninteresting, some novels dont work as movies

I rather liked this, even though it does have its share of flaws - the greatest of them being that it's about 30 minutes too long and that the makeup department failed miserably. Javier Bardem easily outperforms everyone else here.
