Lovers and Lollipops

Small and touching. Impeccably beautiful - Ruth Orkin had an amazing eye.

Perhaps a bit slight, but fairly engaging throughout. The score sounded like something concocted for a silent movie, and was somewhat on the hokey side.

Considering how overall unremarkable i found The Little Fugitive, it might not be saying much that i found this to be a significant step down in quality. Still, if the most interesting thing about the previous film was it's unsentimental depiction of it's child actors, this one feels remarkably mawkish and sentimental (the godawful music doesn't help at all in that respect). Not unsurprisingly, it's at it's best when it's at it's most strictly observational and documentary-like.
