Luckiest Girl Alive

It's tacky and watchable, but the ending is a bizarre twist of unearned girlboss empowerment that has absolutely no reason to exist other than checking off the current day woke checklist

The content is good important and the story as well, Mila's acting is also good. However it feels too mechanic and device-y, relationships just don't feel real.

Sous couvert de féminisme radical, c'est juste un drame sur l'estime de soi, et les conséquences d'un corps abîmé. Sauf que pour évoquer ces sujets forts, il faut une bonne dose de recul, et des épaules très larges. Primo le film fait dans le voyeurisme malsain (les viols ressemblent à des scènes de sexe), et le personnage n'est pas assez abouti. Mila Kunis n'est pas faite pour ce rôle.

This was a film that was a pretty decent "watch" but as so often these days, it was superficial to the point where any deeper themes of the source material were entirely lost. The scripts very "modern" 'Sex in the City / Cosmopolitan' approach of wealth, entitlement, success and accomplishment was all dressed to the 9's in haute couture tailoring, and completely swamped any deeper meaning of guilt, revenge, desire to move on etc. It also made the depiction of the events rushed and very unclear.

Mila shines in her role and it is a decent film. I'm not sure how long it will be remembered, but it is a good watch, and one of the rare ones on gun violence. Although, not a very deep one at that.

I hate everyone in this film.

While Mila Kunis gives a strong performance, the film's scattered script and sensationalistic direction prevent it from making a cohesive and impactful statement on the issues it attempts to tackle. It may be worth a watch for die-hard Mila Kunis fans or those looking for a semi-absorbing airport novel adaptation, but it falls short of being a must-see film.
