I dunno what I watched. Throughout the movie, I kept wondering if Portman's horrible haircut was supposed to help the plot or her character in some way, and then I began wondering if it was a wig, and then at some point she really did put on a wig in the movie, and my mind started spinning with chicken and egg questions in my head, and then I started questioning our existence on the planet, and I felt like saying "Fuck you" in French but I didn't know how, and then, boom... Just bees.

I don't get why this film has been so poorly received. Is it a life changing film? No. But does it deliver exactly what it sets out to do? Absolutely! Cast (Portman at her best), script, story, direction, creativity, and cinematography are all superb. It captures alienation extraordinarily well, in a unique way that most films of this type never come close to achieving. It's a slow film with some unusual creative decisions, but certainly not to a detriment. A captivating film worth watching.

Roughly halfway through, I had a sudden (if vague) recollection of the story this was based on. Checking the history, I got to the erroneous 'MAGs' report and promptly lost it. Even if that detail had survived in the screenplay, I don't think it would have helped much. Everything was perfectly deployed except... a compelling story. I'm left to imagine Nowak 'mission motoring' all the way to Orlando wearing nothing but Space Depends. "My God. There's been an explosion." Sad Astronaut, indeed.

Star power and high production quality help lift this movie up. However, the story was somewhat less than stellar. Natalie Portman and Jon Hamm were very good. Worth watching but somewhat forgettable. The Director/Writer Noah Hawley made a few strange decisions.

The dilemma of Lucy Cola ought to be interesting but the character is way too annoying to remotely care about.

Disappointing and unsatisfying. Not clear why Lucy would lose her mind in such a way.

I don't know what movie everyone was watching, because this was absolutely fantastic. Portman is firing on all cylinders. Yes, you could maybe say that the screenplay is a little weak (more so how haywire things get in the final act), but stylistically Hawley more than makes up for it. The score sets the tone perfectly at each step, and when combined with seamless transitions and creative use of aspect ratio, the film is given a kinetic energy that is impossible not to be captivated by.

1 kadın astronotun hayatını izliyoruz. Uzaydan yeni gelen astronotumuz, dünyadaki olayları anlamını çözmeye çalışır. Natalie Portman'ın en zorlandığı filmlerinden biri. Sinematografisi, sakin yönetmenliği ve mekan yönetimiyle klasik. Senenin en kötü filmi değil. Sadece çok sakin. Noah Hawley'in yeni işlerini bekliyorum. Filmin sonunda, arılar. İyi adamların kalbini kırmayın. Uzayın hastasıyım. Gözlerinin ustasıyım.
