Jeffrey Hunter, Walter Brennan, and Jean Peters all hold up their end of a slight but fun and very beautiful southern/western. Negulesco brings some great frames.

Remake of Jean Renoir's first American film Swamp Water (1941), this time with the very capable Jean Negulesco behind the camera. While the ruthless swamp atmosphere was the highlight of the 1941 picture, the 1952 remake done in Technicolor got more of an adventure vibe. Walter Brennan repeats his role, and it probable most lovable character in this. Jeffrey Hunter & Jean Peters do well with their swamp romance, and it's nice picture overall.
