The town of Leffert's Corners has been plagued by unearthly beings for decades, and now there is only a few people left, including the local priest and a woman traumatised by the death of her sister. But when John Martense turns up to claim his illicit family fortune, with bad guys in pursuit, the last stand had become a lot more complicated. Supposedly based on the writings of H P Lovecraft. Some of the creature effects are neat which is pretty much just me writing “that’s nice dear”. A Full Moon production under 80 minutes might as well be 3+ hours, it sure feels like it. Jeffrey Combs carries this to the finish but just barely.

Gets down to the nitty gritty quick enough and manages to pick out the best of the cliches to fill its brief running time with. The Gothic atmosphere is the best it has to offer and does nicely. Jeffrey Combs doesn't have much to work with but doesn't disappoint. Recommended for classic horror fans.

The wrong choice of director sinks it. The story is OK, despite being insufficiently Lovecraftian, like most adaptations supposedly based on his work, and it looks fine for a 90's DTV horror, but Joyner doesn't take full advantage of its claustrophobic setting, and there isn't much tension generated by his staging choices. Gordon would have been more suitable, and his Lovecraftian films for Full Moon are far superior to this rather tepid foray in gothic cheese.

This movie was just kind of ok. The story was kind of lame, and most of the acting was pretty bad (with the exception of Jeffrey Coombs, who was as good as he usually is). The story wasn't that interesting. I will say that the monsters look pretty good, and this movie isn't outright bad, but its not that interesting and probably not worth the time it takes to watch it.

It's an hour of sweet, sweet legal obligation and copyright squatting. MMM, Charlie Band, you run that indie film company to the ground so. Good. Baby.

Man what a boring, dragging movie. Never gets exciting. It's a short movie, but why do short movies often feel the longest..

From a 20 movie for $5 collection at Walmart... What in the hell was this? Aside from a couple good gore effects this was just awful!!

A faint Lovecraftian feel and Jeffrey Combs made this bearable.

The makeup effects are really quite good, making it a shame that the movie sucks so much.

Sad to say, my favorite Ashely Laurence movie post-Hellblazer 2, as well as the only Full Moon picture I would buy on Blu-ray if they were to release it. Not good, by a long chalk (in fact, awful, in many ways), and yet I could watch it again right now...
