Beautifully rendered romance and evocative character study traverses similar ideas as Linklater's BEFORE series - notable here is what a vivid portrait we get of the history between Risborough and Saleh without any clear sign-posts - flashes of past arguments here and there are enough to get a bittersweet flavour. Saleh is fine, but film belongs to a quietly luminous Risborough, making her way through a luxurious depiction of Egypt - you can feel the heat and sweat in every frame of this.
