Lydia

I'll admit that there is a strong romantic tone to Lydia (1941). Old folks reminiscing their old courtship days and a long lost friend/lover. Beautiful moments, deafening music for the emotional parts, for it's the romantic atmosphere that's important, not the hearing the words they say. The story doesn't grab me as much as it should. There's something about it living too much on it's memories than creating new ones, becoming too much on a stand-still. No denying Merle Oberon was lovely.
