This film could easily have been a cringeworthy Matthew McConaughey-style romance vehicle. The director avoided that well by focusing on the handsome, wealthy, lucky main man's frustrations and insecurities. There is a nice contrast in tone between the scenes of his career and those of his love life. Even if the film is set in that happy-go-lucky movie world where the sun always shines, the simplistic characters are played with charisma by a decent cast, and don't get too annoying. Enjoyable.
