Deanna Durbin the adorable lier! She makes up a daddy to impress her boarding school friends and has to improvise to produce him. And along comes Herbert Marshall, a gentleman as always, reluctantly complies. And so the story goes. Sweet entertainment with songs, friendships and family. My favorite bit was Arthur Treacher as the slightly grumpy man-servant. The child business really got on his nerves! This is a real pleaser through and through and excellent introduction into the world of Durbin!
