Dolores Del Rio plays 18th-century French courtesan DuBarry like a 20th-century golddigger on the make. Brought to Versailles as the companion of courtier D'Aigullon (Victor Jory), former street waif DuBarry charms her way into the heart -- and boudoir -- of gouty King Louis XV (Reginald Owen). (imdb)

Oh, my! How delicious! Dolores del Rio as the royal mistress of King Louis XV. This was all so very Ernst Lubitsch, except it was done by William Dieterle. So extravagant. So naughty. So creamy-dreamy! And they even threw in a little sex education! Rio looked so hot in all the French costumes and that see-through nightie! This was a real tribute to a bitch! Reginald Owen helped makes this a light pleasure film! Throw in a dozen pretty blonds and you have film that's been criminally neglected!
