Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul

This series is good, aside from some out of place comments this movie delivers. Would highly recommend the series first before watching this as you need prior knowledge to follow the story.

Just what I expected of an Idofront arc anime and nothing more. The visuals were, for the most part, worthy of seeing in a theater and the voice actors did well. Of course it doesn't surpass the manga, but it's a good accompaniment to it. Highlight is the Prushka flashback sequence.

Anyone familiar with Made in Abyss, lets get the obvious out of the way first. The animation and general art style in this is top tier and creates for beautiful amazing shots. Kevin Penkin delivers one of the best scores of 2020 with his heavy choir arrangements. The story itself is an adaptation of one of the best arcs in the manga, told in a cleaner looking but slightly rushed version. The development of Prushka's bond with the main cast is slightly too fast and some cut backstory is missed

Does not really work without seeing the other movies first. Otherwise excellent with a complex antagonist.
