Make It Happen

Miss Winsted made me watch this - and I'm far away from beeing ashamed.

Just watched it for MEW and it was worth it. The script made her say some really cheesy things but she made it work. The rest of the characters were varying levels of bad...but Carmen (Bermudez) was straight up cheesing for the camera, good god. Surprisingly, it did inspire to get out and exercise again. So that's cool.

A poor man's 'Coyote Ugly', who knew that was even possible... CU had a decent support and a horrible lead, this one is the other way around - the only positive aspect is Mary.EW showing off some of her eyecandy-qualities. *Preview*: #13#, exp-2*, popcorn, story, Mary.EW!/7, R2.

Just what the world needs - another movie about a small-town white girl trying to become a hip-hop dancer in the big city. In the 10 years since "Save The Last Dance" popularised this genre, the storyline has barely evolved at all, and consequently this movie is as light as a Kleenex and as deep as a paddling pool. Out of all the protagonists in the many dance movies I have seen (don't ask me why), Winstead is among the hottest but is also the least convincing dancer. Inoffensive but pointless.

Divertissement très formaté, et numéros de danse approximatifs, et sévèrement coupés, le montage fait tout le spectacle (la scène avec les parapluies est très propre). L'actrice parvient néanmoins à redonner de l'intérêt à cette histoire déjà-vue, avec des petites touches d'émotion bienvenues, notamment cette scène où l'héroïne visionne une vidéo de sa défunte mère, très touchant.
