Very, very silly mid 90s thriller stuff but sometimes that’s all that’s needed for a good time. And if that’s not enough, then seeing Nicole Kidman getting arrested for attacking a dummy will do it

There seemed to be a lot of these type films in the early to mid nineties. They all kind of blend together as average.

The Alec Baldwin is god courtroom scene movie.

Terrible screenplay. This movie goes from family drama to legal drama to thriller to horror with no success whatosever. However, Kidman somehow manages to find a decent way out.

Great only for one scene: The "I Am God" scene of Alec's. Otherwise, skip it.

Surprisingly good. It's actually rather interesting to watch the two completely separate plot threads come together in a most tangential and unexpected way

I wanted to see this because I'm a fan of Sorkin's writing--of which there is hardly a detectable trace. The plot(s) is one surprise left-turn after another (as in 4 or 5 of them...it gets rather silly rather quickly. Not exactly bad, but not good--at least it moves along quickly and is mostly fun, watching good actors breeze through mediocre material.

Nicole Kidman's butt. I don't like watching film just to see a particular actress in the buff, but I'm afraid Kidman's rear end is the only noteworthy aspect of an otherwise forgettable picture.

Nicole in an exotic role, well pretty much the hair.

Good plot-not what I had expected at all. Somewhat slow but not a major drawback.

Kidman is not good here. Baldwin is better. Plot is ridiculous.

I can see why most people regard this as a poor movie, but I have strong personal reasons for liking this; also thumbs up for the powerful 'I Am God' speech.

Good plot. Felt a little slow and disconnected, but it all came pouring in on you at the last moment and made the movie more for the climax. I can't say great. The characters didn't do much to draw you into the film. But it was decent.

Good, silly 90's thriller fun.

There seems to be scripts for 3 films in this: 1.) "Pacific Heights" style stranger penetrates a couple's life -film 2.) serial killer flick and 3.) a Hitchcockian thriller. That's why the end result feels more like a patchwork instead of a coherent thriller. It's interesting to hear Sorkin's dialogue in rougher form and in a genre context, but this is not among the better 90's thrillers. Still, you could do worse: Kidman is hot and the cast is filled with (then) rising talent and old pros.
