The plot may be something out of an episode of 'The Twilight Zone' but the style is as close as Denmark will ever come to a bona fide Stanley Kubrick movie. I loved this hidden little gem.

A man wishes to use neurotechnological means to perfect his uncannily powerful imaginative, projective capacities. This intriguing idea becomes a way to focus on a protagonist forced to confront the disconcerting discovery of his own imperfection. Shot in a clean, not to say antiseptic style, and with a dry, subdued sense of humour, this perhaps echoes Leth's THE PERFECT HUMAN. And featuring quasi-twin surgeons who share and fight over an actress, it is echoed by Cronenberg's DEAD RINGERS.

A discovery. Spectacularly well shot and deftly acted (Neergaard and Price are different types and they work really well opposite each other). The strongest part of the film is the premise constructed through the first part of the film. After that, it loses its momentum because Ravn stops elaborating, satisfied to deal with the complications relating to the double, some of which are hardly believable. Nevertheless a must-see for anybody with even a fleeting interest in sci-fi.
