Awesome documentary from a time when the trials were still fresh and Manson was still on death row. Masterful editing (with tasteful use of split-screen and post fx) combines the Manson's family's own films from the ranch with eye-opening interviews with "family members", other archival footage and informative narration. The film makes a real effort to get us into its subjects' heads, and help us understand what made them tick, instead of moralizing from without.
