Maradona by Kusturica

Variable documentary about a character who is without doubt of interest to many, although this is hardly a deeply penetrating exploration of the man or even the cultural phenomenon. Can be enjoyed for the music and some of the footage, but the use of animation was inexplicable.

an unabashedly biased portrait of maradona, and a film that tells almost as much about kusturica as it does about the football god. if you can accept this, this movie will show you a really good time. the Maradonian Church is awesome

Not very informative ducumentary. It only shows one side of the legend - a hero. Kusturica talks about himself almost as much as he talks about Maradona. I'm aren't big fan of football, so it was more interesting to see what Maradona does now - political activeness and regrets for all he lost due to cocaine addiction.

Maradona is a footballer of amazing skill, but an unremarkable person. He's an Argentinian of average intelligence and character, and a shallow grasp of politics, including an admiration of Che and Castro. It was perplexing to watch my idol Kusturica idolizing this man in turn. Kusturica sounds some brilliant analysis in the voice-over, like a Herzog, but it seems wasted. Dude, even the world's greatest athlete isn't fit to kiss a great artist's feet.

Not the best documentary ever made, but it's entertaining and compelling for the most part. Kusturica's narration is pretty bad, and it sometimes feels more like Communist propaganda than a movie about a person.

Very weak documentary. Too political, almost nothing about early life and football career, stupid Monty Python type animations, bad editing and on top of this - Emir even used the film to promote his past movies. Disaster...

The first half was a bit boring but it got better in the second. Not a traditional doc., it's even a bit biased, but still a fun movie.

Fakat kusurlari yok degil. oncelikle yer yer sikici olabiliyor ve konu - belgesel dagilabiliyor. Kusturica daha iyisini yapabilirdi. (nerden biliceksin Burak, bu yonetmenin izledigin ilk filmi?! Hissediyorm kardesim, karismayin)
