Marie-Martine (1943) is more a interesting drama than a thrilling one. The way it's told in flashbacks, you go the wrong way, backwards, to find out what happened in the life of this poor girl. Part of the brief director spell for writer Albert Valentin, showing yet another quality output. This guy had something going on, and he deserves bigger exposure.
