Matando Cabos

The Mexican version of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. It is quite an intelligent script and the characters are entertaining. The 'Even speech' was fantastic.

If you like early Tarantino you are going to love it. I found it a little too long but overall I loved the black comedy in it.

Blatantly imitative of Tarantino/Ritchie, this develops its own propulsive momentum from its delightfully off-beat and eccentric character details , enacted by a fun cast of performers who know exactly the right pitch required for this material. Fresh and original enough to be able to ignore some contrivances in plotting and motivation (the fantasy sequences serve as effective distractions) and some awkward cluttering in the final stretch which means the film doesn’t quite stick the landing.
