Did the Animatrix really need to be broken up into all ten(?) segments?

Very intriguing premise that ultimately doesn't go anywhere interesting. Sure looks purty, though.

The CG is laughably outdated, but still retains its cool trippiness that it might as well exploit in this filmic universe. I just wish there was more of that abstract animation rather than the silly storyline about ANOTHER sentinel attack.

Nice looking animation, but what the heck is the story all about??

I'm not so hot on the Animatrix, but Matriculated, which is the last story, is brilliant. Basically about a group of humans who kidnap and then seduce AIs in order to convert them to their side. The mechanics of how this is done are intriguing. In the end it turns out to be a story about a sentient robot and how it somewhat tragically falls in love with humanity.

As with the rest of the Animatrix shorts, this is far superior to the two Matrix live-action sequels.

Interesting Matrix short that sadly doesn't really go anywhere but is enjoyable none-the-less.

Wholly bizarre, and not in a good way. I'm not a big believer in the "nonsense = art" school of filmmaking.

The worst short in the Animatrix. Story is barebones and last forever. Animation is beautiful, but I don't care about anything going on. Characters are drawn but not written
