Deliciously terrible. The moment Walken shoots a fighter pilot in the face from his plane is the point where humanity should have stopped making films, because that situation can never be topped again. The rest was completely incomprehensible, but I guess the hard liquor was to blame for that.

It's a whole movie comprised only of lazy muscles, absurdity, and squibs. But by the same illogic, God bless a film where Christopher Walken shoots a plane in the face.

One of my favourite movies to make drinking games for, it's basically a poor man's 'Commando'.

A poor man's A-Team...if that poor man were a grizzled hobo waiting in a poorly lit park somewhere for George Michael to come along and ask for his services. From the rousing 80s anthem reminding us why freedom is important and evil is bad, to Maria Conchita Alonso's poorly shaved armpit thrust to the heavens in defiance of all that was and shall be, this movie is so epic that the amount of awesome it contains must be measured not in units of awesome per minute, but awesome per minute SQUARED.

Just bonkers. A total "I'll go get my gear" flick with hammy politics and an Ironside ponytail. Walken, while in a plane, takes down an enemy plane with a single shot from a handgun. The action set pieces are huge and mainly consist of the slaughter of civilians from mounted machine guns and Walken's team with Uzis. Pure 1991.

Good in the same way that Con-Air is good, which is to say it's not for the lactose intolerant and you *should* be laughing through the whole thing but there's actually some really cool cinematography going on (occasionally). It's a testament to the 80s action format that something with a script this awful can still be hilariously entertaining.

At one point, Christopher Walken rolls down the window of his jet plane and shoots an enemy pilot in the face with a revolver. Enough said.

the action was in fact better than i expected. however the christopher walken was much more lowkey than i expected. whoever thought to cast him as lead in "a macho action fantasy" was misguided. in any case, it's solid goofy low rent late 80s action (yes it came out in 1991 but that doesn't mean it can't be a couple years late for the party)

Vietnam did more of a number on Glickenhaus than America. McBain uses walking to Woodstock as a metaphor for Vietnam.

Feels like an 80's action film even though it was released in 1991. It shares some themes with director Glickenhaus' previous vigilante film the Exterminator. Both films are also very uneven. There are a couple of ridiculous scenes that might make this worth re-watching: especially the practice round to a local crack house which contains Luis Guzman in a small but hilarious part -- and Walken shooting a jet fighter pilot.

Walken does Commando. Takes a while to get going though.

Precisely as ridiculous as anticipated. Most average thing is the screenplay, cos the cast is pretty good (right down to Luis Guzmán's little role) and Glickenhaus really knows how to shoot an action scene.

Sadly not the great guilty pleasure it should have been, but still enjoyable. It's a shame Christopher Walken doesn't get as many leading roles as he should.

Wow, this movie gets so hilariously bad at times! Story should appeal to every red-blooded american boy and girl. I suspect many end up watching this film because Walken is in it. If it was up to me Walken would be in every movie. He doesn't get much to do in this film, but there are few enjoyable acting moments. A good portion of this film consists of small war action scenes. They look alright, but are strangely unengaging.

Basically the same story as The Expendables, but not done as coherently, and thus twice as entertaining. Although, I'm biased. Any film with Walken is worth watching. My friend got this for 99p. And we got way more than our money's worth, if counting every explosion as 1p.

Amusingly incoherent film. It's clearly the result of multiple rewrites that nobody bothered to join together.
