Meatcleaver Massacre

Some moderate spoilers in that THERE IS NO MEATCLEAVER IN THIS MOVIE…there’s also barely any massacre. Definitely a precursor to how horror movies would sell themselves in the 80’s. Very bizarre Christopher Lee bookends to the film. Wish it would’ve delved a lot more into its giallo inspired supernatural aesthetic and I liked the practical effects but it was mostly just a lot of random nothingness but not in that way I enjoy. Felt like a slog for long portions.

Including but not limited to: Christopher Lee rambling about spirits and Shamans in irrelevant bookends, bad mustaches, wanton murder, scattered shots that look like they're from an art film, booze, a cruddy and disconnected sexual encounter, terrible monster makeup, Laurel & Hardy film posters, demon-summoning coma-vengeance, weird music, dog named Poopers, and no meatcleavers...I'll never forget you, Meatcleaver Massacre.
