Meet Wally Sparks

The party scene at the governor's mansion gave Dangerfield a chance to shine and show off the chops he'd spent a lifetime building on. Unfortunately, there was a movie after that scene.

Dangerfield's brand of comedy was outdated in 97, so it isn't surprising that M.W.S landed with a resounding thud, but fans of his persona and style will probably find much to appreciate here, as it's a return to the roles he plays best: obnoxious but likeable bores. He plays a Howard Stern like host that exploits a political sex scandal to save his ailing career. It isn't a clever look at moronic talk show culture exactly, but it has some very funny moments, and the supporting cast is strong.
