Meeting Evil

Aged prime rib is good. Thick-cut hickory-smoked bacon is good. Bake the two in a cake made from x-tra strength Drano and frosted with Rottweiler shit, and you have a prime-rib-bacon-drano-shit-cake. Or you have Meeting Evil. Unfortunately only one of the two is not available at your local video store.

Wow, this shouldn't even be straight-to-dvd, it should be straight-to-Rifftrax.

Sam Jackson is pretty much the only good part about this. The plot is just kind of silly. In fact, the whole movie is. That would be great if it wasn't so serious in its attempt to say the world is a shitty place. The dialogue is so bad a lot of the time (but Sam does have some good lines) and along with that, there's some horrible delivery of said lines, especially by the male cop, whatever his name was.

Really, just an all-around shitty movie.

Luke Wilson looks like crap and he also doesn't have an ounce of grit in him. Jackson doesn't make any sense and has no motives, and the plot is promising, but full of holes and unanswered questions. Don't watch this movie.

Not only great filmmaking, but really accurate in its depiction of psychopathy.

Top badass moment? Samuel L. Jackson IS “The Backseat Driver”. If you like to ask “why” or need a hero to root for, then don’t watch this film, it will just annoy the crap out of you. However, if you just want to watch SLJ channelling his inner Jules Winnfield into a new character, then it’s great! Also, if you enjoy seeing a financially over-extended middle-class estate agent having a shit time, (and seriously, who wouldn’t enjoy that), then it’s great too. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

I guess the goal of Samuel L. Jackson's character in this movie was to kill everyone in the world... Which is a fine idea for a movie, if only it didn't keep acting like there was some kind of deeper meaning or message to it.

Amateurish beyond belief.

Samuel Jackson takes Luke Wilson on a wild ride in a movie that's okay if you love both actors, but otherwise is hurt by low production values and unrefined direction.

This film is less than good.

To the people saying "no motive" in their reviews, did you simply not watch the end or what? It's literally spelled out for you when they're at the dinner table....

No motive, no closure. Why? For fuck's sake, make something up.

The "Evil Twin" of the Michael Douglas film Falling Down. Luke Wilson, a depressed, middle class failure, who's just lost his job and is in the processes of losing both his wife and his mistress...Meets Samuel L. Jackson, a proper uptight gentleman who will kill anyone who ticks him off. Only 2 minutes in, Luke realizes it's way too late!

Jackson just about holds this pile of crap together.
