disturbing and depressing. but i'm glad i've seen it. it gives the impression that it portrays these people as-is, without glorifying or commentary.

Some of the sequences are staged, but they still ring of a deep truth, staged in the sense that the presence of a camera would alter the situation not that the situation involved would not unfold as it does in reality. Whatever you think of that aspect, the setting is depressingly real and many images are haunting even if the matter of fact style keeps things from ever being too uncomfortable (though some moments come close).
