Merry-Go-Round

One of several films Erich von Stroheim worked on as a director and was fired for overspending! Rupert Julian took over and only 10-min of footage Stroheim shot was used. But looking at this you got to believe that a lot of his vision can be seen. Especially the first half which have clear Stroheim trademarks. The latter part when it becomes romantically soft. Very ordinary. And it's this part you would think Stroheim would have hardened it up and challenged it more emotionally.
