it understands the loneliness & frustration of being incapable of buying into society's bullshit, and the liberation of finding music that buries beneath; the urge to spread hard truths, but also the selfishness and the underestimation of 'normal people' that results from total cynicism; the need for those people to meet halfway, with tolerance if not understanding. plus it worships 'victim of changes' and contains a TV scene that gave me a thousand shivers. i remember the feeling all too well.

Visually nice, great acting, interesting topic but varied ideas here just does not work together. Picking one storyline and developing it (Hera and Baldur; Hera and the priest; Hera and music; Hera and not giving a shit) would have been a lot of help for this movie.

As a metalhead, I expected more of metal mindset; however, it feels great that the producers understood us.

A bit uneven and struggling to find the right balance between drama and comedy, but still worth a watch for metalheads and fans of Iceland in particular.
