Mickey's Helping Hand (1931) Short Film
One of the few films in the series without Mickey Rooney. Costar Marvin Stephens ("Katrink'") stands in for Rooney. The short finds the gang preparing for a Christmas party for the poor kids in the neighborhood.

Turns out Mickey Rooney didn't appear in all of the Mickey McGuire episodes. In some of them Marvin Stephens did the title character.... but he didn't have the same personality Rooney did. And when you get a one that's not that well written and no star to carry the rest, it turns into a very forgettable comedy....
