I needed to watch some crappy movies as the bell curve of my film rankings was far too top heavy. That's what I get for being selfish enough to always want to watch good movies... Well, here's your chance crap movies. For one month only, your inbred offspring and backwater, hillbilly relatives gonna get some of my time. Battlefield Earth, you're next!

A bad movie, there's no doubt about that. But my 8-year-old self loved it so darn much and I played the shit out of the GameGear tie-in game. That has to count for something. Any movie that can bring back fond memories of playing GameGear is a winner in my books. Too bad there's not a Surf Ninjas movie. UPDATE: There IS a Surf Ninjas movie! The game was based on a movie the whole time. A movie...about the game!! I am so happy right now, words can't describe.

If you can't relax long enough to acknowledge the virtues of a movie where ethnically-diverse teenagers train with alien ninjas so that they can pilot giant robots to fight a resurrected demon named "Ivan Ooze", then you might have just a bit of a stick up your ass.

The characters are so bland that as a kid I didn't even realize half the rangers are recast. The yellow and black rangers have even swapped ethnicity, probably because someone realized color-coding them that way originally was really fucking tacky. As a fully American production it lacks the quirky charm that the Super Sentai footage added to the show. The soundtrack is pretty good and Ivan Ooze is still fun. Thanos doesn't have shit on Ivan Ooze.

A surprisingly fun movie that realizes it has "Morphin" in the title and therefore doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a little ridiculous in its 90s way, but is so over-the-top that it's worth checking out.

A whole crap load of bonus points for nostalgia, as PR was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Plus, it's bad in just the right way so that it's hilarious now that I know better.

Doesn't matter that its bad, I still watched this numerous times when I was younger and am not ashamed to admit that I loved it. Side note: surprisingly decent soundtrack if you enjoy rock from the 80's and early 90's.

Act 1 was a highlight of my childhood and is still fun, Act 2 is a real slog, and Act 3 doesn't quite hold up, but the guilty pleasure nostalgia goggles are strong with this one. The soundtrack is a ton of fun. Also, how worthless is Rocky?

No 90's childhood is complete without some exposure to the classic "Power Rangers" franchise. The film knows its target audience, young children who watched the TV show, and delivered plenty of trademark "Mighty Morphin" action for them. However, the film offers little beyond that core demographic as the movie is nothing more than campy 90's schlock for kids. Unfortunately, the film uses horribly dated CGI instead of relying on the charm of the kaiju style of monster battles seen on the TV show.

Top badass moment? Ninja Megazord, power up! Ninja Falcon Megazord! It's morphin' time! Sabre-toothed tiger! Etc! Taking time out to say stuff like that really, really fast in the middle of a fight, is definitely badass. No cats, decapitations or chainsaws. (Wow, big surprise there...)

Not bad big-screen spin-off of the megapopular mid-'90s kid show. Lots of computer-generated FX and sophomoric comedy; this includes homages to _The Wizard of Oz_, various Godzilla movies, and even _One Million Years B.C._ (in the person of sexily clad warrior woman Fitzpatrick).

Extremely cheesy and shitty, but I can't deny I laughed my ass off. The guys needed a little more lipgloss though, and the blue ranger looks like a giant douchebag. Villain is really stupid and death to that fucking robot. What a piece of shit. I gotta put this on my "watch while stoned" list though.

This movie sucks. The music sucks, the acting sucks, the dialogue sucks, the plot sucks, the fighting sucks, the suits look like crap, Zordon looks like crap, Goldar looks like crap, the cgi looks like crap. I've never been less interested in a movie while watching it. The only thing this movie even remotely has going for it is Paul Freeman, who can actually act, and makes what should be a horrible villain somewhat enjoyable. Still not worth it. Zyruranger kids pity MMPR ones.

This movie embodied everything I loved about the Power Rangers. The Americanized super sentai series went downhill after this very quickly. The second movie is simply atrocious and it came out only 2 years later. While I preferred the TV Series to this movie it was awesome to see it on the big screen. The costumes went the normal superhero route and became more like armor much like the Batman costume did.

This movie was so awesome when I was a kid. Of course, the only good thing it has going for it now is nostalgia. Still, it served as a decent transition between seasons of the show, and the movie wasn't as much a tie-in for toys as other franchises have shamelessly done.

I was indeed a power rangers fan as a kid, and this movie was an amazing step up from the show. I absolutely loved it. Now days I'll still watch it but it doesn't have the same impact as it used to. And I realize now of how bad and cheesy it really is. They should have just stuck with dinosaurs anyway.

Power Rangers the Movie is not by any definition a good movie. Except for perhaps the camp value. Even for those who may not be familiar with the TV series. The movie works perfectly to keep the kids enthralled. As well as providing some probably unintentional laughs for the adults. None of the actors come off particularly special aside from the over-the-top charms of Paul Freeman.
