A film about divorce and its deleterious effects on all those involved. Unfortunately, that's the most interesting aspect, the premise and social context. As a film it's a chore to watch as the characters are never engaging and everything is shot from a rather distanced perspective. It doesn't help that time hasn't been kind to the film, resulting in choppy editing and terrible sound. It's worth watching from a historical or academic perspective, and it's not a bad film, it's just not engaging.

The oldest surviving Korean feature film! Only a curiosity though. They clearly hadn't mastered how to make a good movie yet. All it does is pour in misery until death ends it....

This doesn't have the polish that Japanese films from the same time period had. The acting isn't great but it's decent enough to not be distracting. The story however is told reasonably well and doesn't flinch away from the uglier aspects of domestic life. I haven't seen any film from any other country during the 30s that deals with the same subject matter so matter of fact.

A interesting curiosity from a film history point of view, but a poor movie. The morals are completely outdated so it hasn't stand the test of time in that regard. Besides it's just a very stiff acted and horribly edited movie; most of the scenes do not flow well on from each other.
