If Bruce Campbell doesn't instantly make a film interesting, stop watching.

Some points for the visual design and the absurdly bad ending, but the rest is just plain boring.

Starts off a decent premise and just lets it kind of sit there, it's all underdeveloped. This accentuates the mediocre, or worse, acting, and overall neglected writing. The whole virtual reality aspect is thrown down the toilet and flushed...repeatedly. It had a promising first bit, but once they get underground you can basically turn it off.

Not bad, but not too thrilling, either. Neither Campbell nor Scrimm are used to great effect, here

Derivative, or innovative? Intelligent, or grotesque? I'll go with yes to all. It's all one fascinating, gory enigma.

Promises a lot more at the start than it eventually delivers. There's a few neat moments here and there but the second half gradually sinks into silliness.

I'll give it points for trying but Arithaniel's review is pretty much spot-on.

What was with the ending? I mean I think I'd be pretty upset if my dad created a virtual reality him that tried raping and impregnating me, but whatever... This movie had gore & Bruce Campbell so what more could you ask for.
