A huge surprise, and a really enjoyable horror flick with some nice gore along with great scares! The special effects may have been overdone, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat, and has an ending nobody was expecting!

Damn that was a creepy, scary and damn good horror flick !! can't understand those bad comments. I loved to go on tour with Sutherland through that scary house of mirrors !! In my opinion it's a shiny light at the end of the tunnel of bad movies in times of Saw 12 and Hostel 8.

Huge disappointment from Aja. Some gore and interesting visuals, but so poorly acted, written and executed that the good parts are quickly forgotten.

One of the best horror movies in a long time! not the same old boring story. Excellent script with a smashing good ending. GREAT ending! The scene with Amy Smart was really scary! Got chills and that's not often. Brilliant acting By Sutherland.

Paranormal mirrors are investigated by an ex-cop after evil spirits target his family. This average enough horror premise in the end is just like countless of other forgettable films of the genre. The film is full of its' share of cliches and tropes. A suspended detective, whose issues with alcohol may have ended his career and marriage, is able to use his detective skills to uncover the mysterious origin of the evil force just in time to save his family from an ending of pure shlock.

Worth seeing just for the scene where Amy Smart rips her own jaw off. It's as absurd as it sounds, but genuinely unsettling.

A moderate surprise, "Mirrors" is a disturbing horror film that needed to run further with its possession storyline to be truly effective. It's a very goofy premise played out interestingly, at least for what I was expecting. It's gory, graphic, but it deserves to have more scares. The story kept me interested once I forgave it, and I semi-enjoyed "Mirrors" for what it was.

Alas, another victim of the Americanizing of a beloved J-Horror, although "Mirrors" is probably at the top of the schlock heap (OH MY GOD THAT BATH SCENE WAS SO GOOD).

This is boring and fragile. Has some gruesome, chilling scenes, backgrounded by a reasonable story, but the final result is a weak horror flick.

Mirrors is one of those horror flicks that is a joy to see on the big screen. Sure, it has a few scenes that seem to be written more to showcase gruesome special effects than for the storyline itself, but all-in-all it accomplishes what good horror movies are supposed to do. It keeps you rivetted to your seat, intrigued by its concept, and eagerly awaiting what lies ahead. Considering his limited range, Sutherland performs better than one would expect, being quite effective as tormented victim.

This movie is not very good. But it packs enough gore in and has decent enough acting to be watchable. The whole supernatural element doesn't make any sense, and much less when you think about an hour after you're finished with it.

Mirrors is a mess that's almost saved by a twist at the end, although in retrospect, it would have been better to include that twist earlier so we could view things from a different perspective for most of the time it's playing. Instead, we get too much exposition, a great deal of time spent not being scared, but confused, as well as one interesting death scene. But it's not worth your time, and it's just another unnecessary remake of an Asian horror film.

It started out strong for the first half or so, but got weaker after that. Even the killing methods got less creative, but I guess they figures they couldn't top how nasty the bath scene was. It turns into an almost zombie movie thing at some point and it is meh then

Young girl flashbacks from 50's were interesting. Also I liked Paula Patton in wet bending overs. Seriously, this movie was baloney. If you see things in a mirror that do not exist, will you start to paint them over? I don't buy it. The end (the stupid end) was executed nicely though.

Mostly just boring, which sucks since all the Aja I've seen to this point has been great and when it's not it's at least exciting and thrilling. Almost nothing in this movie works and it's just a slog to get through. The scene where the sister pulls her face apart is a standout tho, for sure.

An enjoyable but a pretty average horror flick from Alexandre Aja. This could have been alot better but fell short which is a shame as it is differant from the huge amounts of slasher horrors that we get nowadays. The highlight was the ending which was very well done and if it had been done any other way would have come across as cheesy.

so im a pretty huge fan of aja, every movie besides this one that he has made is at the top of my list. Thats not to say this movie was bad i just think if he hadnt directed it then it probably would have sucked. Also im not a huge fan of sutherland but he didnt ruin this movie to much. I found there were a lot of confusing parts to this movie but if you just blame it on demons then it all makes sense. I also found it pretty cool how many ways you can make mirrors scary creepy.

A decent horror flick with a creepy atmosphere to it that scared me in certain parts. It had a great death scene which I will not spoil and the acting wasn't too bad but the writing of the story just falls flat towards the second half of the film, found it to be a bit repetitive and the ending was very ho-hum. A rental at best.

I'm on the fence about this flick, which I kinda love about it. It really has two endings, and depending on the way in which you interpret the ending, it might be a good flick which kinda falls apart at the end (by not even following its own internal logic), or it might be a great flick, maybe even a landmark in the modern genre (by having an ending which shows that the whole movie up to that point was one gigantic mind-fuck against the protagonist). Kept me jumpy and in suspense throughout.

Suprisingly good Horror. I didn't like the gory parts and sometimes thought that mirrors could be used better to create suspense but nevertheless, good develeoping story with little suprises. Worth to notice is that the ending was arguebly the best possible one (otherwise it would be too clichè).

this is not a movie for the weak-of-heart as it delivers some awful bloody scenes and thrilling scaring moments. it has anice twist at the end although this can also be seen as a downpoint as it kinda messes up the movie when you think about it. either way, a nice movie to watch alone or with friends (maybe better not alone)

When i found out that Alexandre Aja wrote and directed this, I almost shut it off. His twist at the end of High Tension ruined that movie and The Hills Have Eyes was beyond unwatchable. But I liked some of the cast members that were in this and gave it a chance. I was kind of surprised. The death scenes were gory(no surprise there) and the acting was passable. The story was decent and I loved the twist at the end. I'm glad that I gave this little gem a chance.

It's been a while since I'd seen this movie, but I seem to recall that Sutherland was a security guard....to a decrepit and burned down former department store. WHO THE HELL IS HE SECURING IT FROM?! VAGABONDS AND TRAMPS?! Also, not a fan of the dramatic whispering, it needed to stop. Not scary, NOT entertaining. Watching my dog clean herself is more enjoyable. PASS!
