The message is admirable, the subject is interesting, & the performances are pretty good. But, I just can't help but feel meh about the whole thing. The split narrative doesn't really work & throws the pacing off, & none of the characters have any authentic depth to them. Almost all of the social commentary is pretty surface-level stuff that's been said before & said better. It wants to be this profound statement piece, but it just never really gets there. Definitely wanted to like this more.

Very British family-friendly take on 70s femenism. Expect to have all your modern liberal biases warmly confirmed. Points lost for the dodgy exposition towards the end ("sorry, I've just got to pop to the loo and have a lengthy conversation") where the two central women talk about the 'issues'.
